MCU500 Master Control Unit At the heart of the flagship OPUS 500 Series Multi-Room Entertainment System lies the MCU500. Capable of distributing up to 5 audio inputs in addition to the in-built tuner and 4 main zones and 4 sub- zones simultaneously, the MCU500 will fill your home with rich detailed sound. A high definition display on the front panel of the MCU500 displays radio station, frequency etc text from the built-in tuner, and enables easy tuning of the 30 station presets. If required, 6 audio-loop outputs are available to connect the audio sources to existing hi-fi or AV equipment. For those with larger installation needs, an MCU link facility enables up to 6 MCU500's to be connected together giving a maximum distribution capability of 24 main zones and 24 sub-zones. |

VSU500 Video Switching Unit Designed to work with the MCU500, the VSU500 adds full video switching capability to the OPUS 500 Series Multi-Room Entertainment System. 5 composite video inputs correspond to the CD, DVD, SAT, AV1, and AV2 audio inputs on the attached MCU, and can be distributed to the 4 main zones around your home. When an audio source is selected in any zone via the wall-mounted control unit, the VSU500 automatically routes the corresponding video signal directly to the same zone. In addition to the standard 5 video inputs, a CCTV input is provided allowing access to a security camera signal from any of the main-zone screens. |

TXT500 Text Interface Unit Further expanding the power and flexibility of the OPUS 500 Multi-Room Entertainment System, the OPUS TXT500 Text Interface Unit allows the WCU500 to instantly display album, artist, and track text on its LCD panel from a Sony CD multi-disc player or XIVAT based hard disk server. An RS232 port allows hard-disk servers which use XIVA protocol, to be fully integrated into the OPUS 500 Series Multi-Room Entertainment System and their text information displayed on the WCU500. Currently this includes units from Marantz, Imerge, Sonance, Cyrus and Elan. There is also a driver available for Escient's Fireball range of HD servers. Also compatible with Sony multi-changers, the TXT 500 features two S-LINKT inputs and acts as an interface between the OPUS MCU500 Master Control Unit and one or two of these multi-changers (which can contain up to 800 CDs in total). To create the album database, the TXT500 is also connected to an internet-enabled PC via the dedicated USB or RS232 ports. A simple OPUS TXT software application creates a link to an online music database, and with a single click reviews all the discs in the multi-changer and downloads artist, album and track information into the TXT500 from the internet. Additional CDs and their information can be added to the multi-changer by simply re-running the PC application which intelligently searches for the new disc data only. All the data downloaded can be edited by the user, making the database and display information fully customisable. The TXT500 also features an Ethernet port which, together with the USB and RS232 ports, will l ensure that the TXT500 is future-proof. Software upgrades to add new features and add compatibility with further sources will be added in the future. |
