With around two-thirds of the average movie soundtrack playing through the centre channel, KEF’s extended bandwidth
technology has been applied with particular care to the new Reference series centre speakers.
Adding the Hypertweeter to the new UNI-Q driver array provides the extra dynamic range required to reproduce all the
audio information encoded in the latest digital formats. For reproducing the human voice, the combination is
unsurpassed - completely natural sounding, and sensitive enough for the slightest whisper to be heard with unerring
clarity.
The driver line-up is completed by audiophile quality 6.5" (165mm) bass drivers on either side, with ultra-low
distortion motor systems and reinforced lightweight diaphragms to recreate the full weight of frontal effects without
sacrificing subtlety at lower volumes.
Using a similar progressive filtering technique to that used in the 205, 203 and 202c the outermost pair of bass
drivers is rolled off before the inner pair to allow the best dispersion and integration.
The perfect compliment to model 207 and 205 floor-standers, model 204c is one of the most impressive centre speakers
to be found at any price - or as one critic put it, 'gobsmacking'.
